Happy Birthday, Mom!

Happy Birthday mom

It’s been over a week since my last blog post. For that I’m sorry. This last week has been insane on many levels and hopefully I’ll have a little more clarity in the coming days.

But for now, I wanted to take a minute to wish my Mom a happy birthday. She raised me and my brothers as a single mom and somehow survived.

She once had dreams of her own that were lost in the process of raising three boys and trying to keep us afloat. We’re all grown now, with families of our own, and for someone who was labeled with the broad brush of “single mom” it can be hard to find your identity once your life has changed so dramatically over the last few years.

My Mom has been my biggest fan and promoter since I started my own business.

This is your year, Mom.

This is the year where you identify the things that are most important to you and start doing the things you love.

You’ve watched me do it from the sidelines, and now it’s time for you to spend the rest of your life doing the things you’ve always wanted to do. Other people’s opinions and difficult circumstances have led you to believe that you have limitations. It’s time to say, @#$% that. You are not defined by the cards you were dealt, but by how well you play the hand you’ve been given.

Take this year by the horns and kick some butt in the process. It’s another birthday and it’s time for you to identify what you were born to do and start doing it.

I love you and can’t wait to celebrate your success with you. I may even get to say “I told you so.”

HAPPY BERFDAY!
